Included in New York’s substantial collection of International restaurants is a long list of Greek eateries. Like most ethnic restaurants in the city, Greek dining venues present their patrons with authentic cultural cuisines with a little New York touch.

Astoria, which was first settled by Dutch and German immigrants, has grown to become a world-renowned Greek community. With such a large population of Greek descendants, it’s no surprise that this predominantly Greek neighborhood has a considerable selection of Greek restaurants, taverns and bakeries. Some Astoria visitors come to dine on tender, grilled octopus and a roast leg of lamb, while others come to sample potent Greek coffees and wines as they people watch and swap stories.
