Chicago has a smorgasbord of food and drink options. Each section of the city presents a combination of traditional ethnic and contemporary dining, as well as a vast selection of watering holes.

An evening in Uptown is a multicultural affair. Uptown’s culinary mix includes Vietnamese restaurants, African restaurants and Indian restaurants. Some of these eateries offer traditional cuisine. Others incorporate a touch of Americana. And, if you’re in the mood for some hearty meat and potato dishes, you’ll also find them at one the many restaurant bars and beer gardens situated here. The South Loop is a natural meeting place for Bears fans. With Soldier Field nearby, most bars and restaurants here cater to pre- and post-game partiers. Each venue lures Chicagoans in with unbelievably low drink specials during football season, but patronage is often granted to the venues with most television screens. The rest of Downtown offers a plentiful selection of food and drink venues. Many of Chicago’s favorite hotel restaurants, theaters and jazz clubs are located in this area. Some eateries present diners with beautifully prepared gourmet cuisine created by acclaimed chefs.

Chicago also has many ethnic neighborhoods. Greektown is located in the West Loop. This Greek community has rows of cafes and bakeries offering traditional Greek eats in addition to several ethnic dance clubs and bars. Chinatown serves up a wide selection of dim sum restaurants, gourmet Chinese restaurants, quick-to-serve noodle shops and Chinese bakeries. Also in the mix are numerous dives and karaoke bars. Little Italy is pretty much self-explanatory. Patrons of this neighborhood may enjoy a wide selection of authentic Italian pastas and deserts at one of the area’s many Italian restaurants. The South Side of Chicago is also rich in culture. With galleries featuring African-American artists, restaurants serving soul food and clubs headlining acoustic jazz, there is no denying that this area is saturated with African-American cultural.

When it comes to food and drinks, Chicago has much to choose from. It is almost impossible to be in this enormous city without discovering something new and enjoyable.
