The San Francisco nightlife is as diverse as its neighborhoods, its restaurants and its locals. The city’s massive selection of bars, lounges and dance clubs feature live entertainment, as well as celebrity DJs, playing everything from hip hop to electronic to funky alternative. Some nightclubs also host special events, parties and art showings.

And, stress-free tourists indulge at the many bars and pubs surrounding Fisherman’s Wharf.

Some areas of San Francisco attract a relatively mixed crowd. North Beach offers an assortment of old watering holes and new trendy clubs. Each section of San Francisco brings forward a variety of nightlife options. Most bars close around midnight or 2:00 a.m. Numerous late-night eateries are available to accommodate hungry bar-hoppers.
