The Internet has changed the way we search for real estate. Most realtors now showcase their listings on Web sites, so buyers can explore before they decide which homes are worth viewing. Users of these sites can usually search by property type, price range, number of bedrooms and bathrooms, location, school district, square footage and so on. Each home will have its own profile, displaying additional information, such as room sizes, lot sizes and tax estimates. Some realtor sites also provide mortgage calculators, so buyers can calculate their estimated monthly payments.
Once a buyer has one or more prospects, he or she should contact a real estate agent. Real estate agents can schedule the viewings for the buyer and provide a variety of insider information. For instance, they can tell a buyer which neighborhood(s) offer the best resale values, if a particular house falls within a desired school district, or if there are any persistent maintenance issues that need to be addressed. Often times, the agent may also be able to predict if a particular seller's need to sell is urgent.
Search ThinkLocal to find a real estate agent near you.
